so Vivo is known for experimenting with smartphone tech, but this time they’ve taken it to a whole new level. Imagine a phone with a camera that literally takes off like a drone. Yeah, not kidding.

That’s exactly what the Vivo Drone Camera Phone is aiming to do. It’s still in the concept stage, but if the leaks and rumors are even half true, this phone is going to be something completely different.

So, what’s this flying phone all about?

This isn’t just about popping an extra camera lens into the back of a phone. Nope. The Vivo Drone Camera Phone is designed with a detachable drone camera inside the phone’s body.

When you want to take a shot from above or from a different angle, the little drone flies out and does the job. And the best part? You can fly it using your phone’s screen like a remote control. Now that’s cool.

The drone itself has four propellers, and to keep things from crashing or bumping into people, it comes with infrared proximity sensors. So it’s not just flying for fun—it’s smart too.

Big screen with great colors

The display on this phone is no slouch either. It features a 6.9-inch Super AMOLED screen, which is pretty massive.

It has 1440 x 3200 resolution, so things like YouTube, games, and even the drone footage will look sharp and vibrant. And don’t worry about scratches it’s got Corning Gorilla Glass 7 for protection.

The camera setup is wild

We’ve already talked about the drone camera, but let’s not forget the rest of the setup. The Vivo Drone Camera Phone is rumored to have a 200MP quad-camera system, which sounds unreal. Besides the flying camera, you also get:

  • A 32MP ultra-wide lens
  • A 16MP wide sensor
  • A 5MP depth sensor

On the front side, it’s packing a 64MP selfie camera, so even your front-facing shots will look crisp. Whether you’re vlogging or just flexing on Instagram, you’re covered.

Performance won’t let you down

You’d expect a phone like this to have strong performance too, right? And it looks like Vivo won’t disappoint. It’s rumored to come with the Snapdragon 898 5G processor, which is super powerful.

Along with 12GB of RAM, you can run games, apps, and of course, the drone camera smoothly.

Storage-wise, you get options like 256GB or 512GB, so you won’t have to worry about running out of space too soon.

Big battery with fast charging

A feature-packed phone like this needs solid battery life. Vivo seems to have taken care of that with a 6900mAh battery, which is huge by smartphone standards.

Whether you’re flying the drone or binge-watching something, it should easily last through the day.

And when the battery runs low, it supports 55W wireless charging, so you’re back up and running quickly.

The design is different… in a good way

This isn’t your regular phone design. The Vivo Drone Camera Phone has a removable section where the drone sits, and that’s where the fingerprint sensor is placed too.

When you need it, the drone slides out, flies around, takes your photos, and then you just dock it back in.

It’s the kind of design that turns heads because seriously, who expects a phone to fly?

When is it coming out?

Here’s the tricky part. Even though people were saying it might launch back in 2022, it hasn’t happened yet. Vivo hasn’t officially confirmed anything either, so we don’t know when (or if) it’ll actually release. But people are definitely waiting for updates.

If and when it does come out, it won’t be cheap. Based on the rumors, it might cost somewhere between $1,170 to $1,500 (around ₹88,000 to ₹1.1 lakh in India). Yeah, that’s expensive, but for a flying phone? Not completely unexpected.

Real-world problems?

As cool as all this sounds, there are a few things to think about. Making a tiny drone that can fly well and still take quality photos is not easy. And since the drone is small, it might be more fragile or have limited flying time.

Also, drone laws in some countries are pretty strict. In India, for example, flying drones in public spaces can be tricky due to regulations. So that could limit how and where you can use this feature.

Another thing how often would someone actually use the drone? It sounds amazing, but if it’s too delicate or needs too much charging, people might just ignore it after a while.

Should you buy it or not?

Well, you can’t actually buy the Vivo Drone Camera Phone yet. But if it ever does launch, it’s definitely going to be a headline-maker. A phone with a camera that flies? That’s next-level stuff. It’s perfect for vloggers, travelers, tech lovers, or even just someone who wants something totally different from a regular smartphone.

Still, it depends on how Vivo pulls it off in real life. If the drone works smoothly, doesn’t drain the battery too fast, and follows the rules then yeah, it could be worth the price. Otherwise, it might just end up being a fancy gimmick.

So, if Vivo really launches this phone, would you be willing to try a phone that can take flight? Sounds crazy… but kind of amazing too, right?
